Erika Graziani Erika got AOTW for always being ready to work hard, and never complaining. She is consistently putting forth every ounce of effort she can muster, so much to the point that she’s incoherent at the finish line. E always has words of encouragement for her sistas.
Coach: What brought you to the sport of triathlon?
Erika: I’ve always been into sports, especially running and track and field. After competing in track at the college level, I felt lost when it was over. After my last track meet my senior year of college, I remember thinking…well now what? This can’t be over! Being part of a team, training, competing, growing friendships. In graduate school, I started competing in some road races- mostly 5 Ks. After beginning my “real job” dietitian career, I did my first (of two) half marathons. I moved to Florida and continued to run, do P-90-X, or whatever I could, to stay active, competitive, and to feel accomplished (I even did a Savage Race…lots of mud…right up my alley). At work one day, we were ready to start ICU rounds, and the nurse practitioner (out very own Jennifer DeLong) came up to me and asked “Have to ever thought of doing Triathlon?” She introduced me to Team PhysioFit and….here I am today- still competing with my sistas and loving it!! ..except when my legs feel like they are going to fall off during the last part of the run during a triathlon!
C: From where do you draw your inspiration to keep healthy and fit?
E: From the time I was a little girl, my grandparents, and many great uncles would always talk to us about being healthy and were always saying “everything in moderation”. My grandparents, aunts and uncles, and even my parents (for a while) all grew their own gardens. So I had early exposure to enjoying fresh vegetables in the garden and learning about healthy foods. I was always impressed with my great grandfather- he lived to be 102 years old, stayed active, made his own wine, grew his own garden. I grew up with 3 brothers and a neighborhood full of boys. I often had to “prove myself” or fight my way in order to be included in..you name it- the baseball, football, basketball game, bike ride, etc. This carried over into school- always tried to beat the boys (and girls) at fitness challenges in Phys Ed class. I guess I just adopted this life style and have always had interest in health, fitness, and nutrition.
C: What has triathlon brought to your life?
E: Being part of a team again- something I have always loved! A huge sense of accomplishment! Discipline. Lots of love and support from my sistas.
C: What is your favorite thing about training and racing triathlon?
E: Achieving new goals. The realization of being capable of so much more than I ever realized. Training with people- growing friendships. Crossing the finish line- knowing that I put it all on the line. Oh and if course the after party

Jaclyn Bevis Jaclyn also has that Can-Do attitude and goes to great lengths to show up for practice, even if she has to “run pretty”. Her light heart and great sense of humor are always uplifting to her team mates.
C: What brought you to the sport of triathlon? J: I started triathlon in early 2014 after months of “searching” for a hobby when an opportunity for work to train and compete in a triathlon fell in my lap. It was a love/hate relationship at first sight.
C: From where do you draw your inspiration to keep healthy and fit?
J: I’m competitive by nature so that helps, but mostly I race for the multitude of people who can’t that day for whatever reason it is. It’s important to me that because I can, I do, and in the process, I’m inspired by so many others who are doing the same.
C: What has triathlon brought to your life?
J: Amazing friendships that spans thousands of miles and a new purpose to share the sport with others.
C: What is your favorite thing about training and racing triathlon?
J: I love focusing on a goal, so the training process leading to race day is important to me. I also enjoy team training and seeing everyone reach their own personal goals. Of course, race day and the days surrounding it are the perfect reward, especially when racing with friends!
